This is a website for amateur boxing coaches all over America to communicate with each other. Coaches can give their opinions on any matters they wish concerning amateur boxing. Your thoughts about how things are run at USA Boxing in Colorado Springs. How amateur boxing is run in your state and region. What you think about your state and regional presidents of amateur boxing. Let your opinions be known. We are a very large membership of coaches many thousands strong. We are the grassroots of USA boxing. We must let USA Boxing know we have a voice in our program. I am coach John Falcone your host on this site. I run the Northside Boxing School along with my sons Coach Giovanni Falcone and Coach Luciano Falcone. Giovanni also sets up boxing shows in our gym. We also travel to compete. If we invite you to compete in our gym we help with some expenses. Please email Giovanni per any boxing shows. I started coaching when I was 28yrs.old in 1977. I am now 51yrs. old. I have been lucky enough to have coached a few national champs Jr. and Open. I have been to a lot of International competitions with my boxers Bobby Lewis and Tim Austin, Goodwill Games 1990 Tim Austin-Gold and 1992 Olympics Tim Austin-Bronze. I am the person, who finally after the 3rd. try and 6 yrs. Later, in 1997 was successful in getting a unanimous vote to pass the new rule per coaching all the way to the Olympics. Checkout the 2000-2001 USA Boxing Rulebook. Page 18 article V coaches and assistant coaches 105.1 (14) A boxers personal coach(es) shall be permitted to work the respective boxers corner for all competitions (national, international, and Olympic Games). Please email us with anything you wish to talk about and have posted on our site for all to read regarding amateur boxing, computer scoring system, Marquette Northern Michigan boxing program, Amateur boxing shows you are planning or Fundraising ideas. You name it we'd like to hear from you. We will post all letters submitted for all to read and reply to. Please try not to use profanity in your emails because I'm sure they will be edited if they are too bad. This website is releasing Opinions only of its members not to be taken as anything other than Opinions. The purpose of this website is to get our point across without disrespecting any of our fellow members in USA Boxing regardless of where they are positioned. I hope that one day USA Boxing will have a "Greet with open arms policy for all coaches who show up at high level competitions''. We will always need coaches assigned by USA Boxing to work the corners of boxers when personal coaches aren't able to be there for whatever reason. However when the personal coaches can be at the competition USA Boxing should assist them in every way possible to make sure they get whatever they need to work their boxers corner. All it involves is making sure the personal coaches names are submitted ahead of time according to a U.S.O.C. legal dept. rep. that I personally talked to immediately following the Pan Am Games. That Easy! Lets start communicating coaches! Send your emails now. USA Boxing Headquarters Colorado Springs we welcome your comments too! Sincerely Coach John Falcone |
